Alternatives in Motion is pleased to welcome its newest staff member, Karin! As our new Office Manager, Karin will work diligently to support client communications, accounting and much more. We sat down with Karin to ask her a few questions:
• Tell us a little bit more about yourself! What do you like to do in your free-time?
In my free time I like to travel, take “professional” pictures, sing solos, and spend quality time with my family.
• Why were you interested in working with Alternatives in Motion?
My interest in AIM started a year ago when I was invited by Eric Keizer to attend the Moving People Forward Luncheon. My husband Scott and I attended the event with Eric & Wendy Keizer and he gave us a private tour of the AIM facility. I was impressed with AIM’s vision and role in the disabled community. I have been through several leg surgeries myself and have used various mobility equipment and understand the importance of independence that proper mobility equipment provides. When I saw the open position, I knew right away that it would be a great fit for me.
• What would you like to see Alternatives in Motion achieve in the next year?
I would like to see AIM create a more advanced client communication system. I believe this will help everyone find the information that they are looking for in a more timely manner. It will also help us better serve the disabled community in West Michigan!
• What have you been doing to stay busy during quarantine?
During quarantine, I have spent time remodeling and helping my parents with their errands and meals. My Dad has early Alzheimer’s and my Mom is experiencing major health problems. The time I have been able to spend with them is so precious to me and I am so thankful that I am in a position to be able to help them during their time of need.
