April is National Volunteer Appreciation Month

Without the time, dedication, and support from volunteers, Alternatives in Motion could not continue to advance its’ mission and provide services to a multitude of clients in West Michigan. While April is National Volunteer Appreciation Month, we appreciate our volunteers every day.

Throughout 2019, over 1,800 hours of volunteer services helped support Alternatives in Motion’s mission. Thanks to these volunteer hours, 511 clients were provided with refurbished mobility equipment and granted independence. This is a 21% increase in clients serviced from 2018, as noted in our Annual Report.

“We cannot thank our volunteers enough,” says Coleen Davis, Executive Director. “Although Alternatives in Motion is not currently open, we still have volunteers working tirelessly to ensure we can service the growing list of clients requesting mobility equipment once we open again. Our mission is not on hold.”

“We love volunteering at Alternatives in Motion! It’s such a great place, great people and more importantly, great clients that need help! It feels so good to give something to those in need,” says Linda Cole, a long-time volunteer for Alternatives in Motion.
